Winning More Work through Tenders workshop

Thursday 18th April, 09:30am – 12:00pm, ergo business centre

Are you trying to win more contracts? Do you want to supply to the organisations which use the tender process but don’t know how to do bids? If the answer is “Yes!” to either of these questions, why not attend our free Winning More Work through Tenders workshop?

Aimed at businesses who are seeking to improve their contract win rate, this 2 ½ hour interactive workshop will help you understand how to prepare and position your business to win!

Delivered by Nigel Denison and Kate Skillman of Gimlet Associates, bid and tender support specialists, with special guest Stefanie Wright, Construction Framework Assistant Manager and YORcivil2 North & East Framework Manager, topics you’ll cover will include:



Session 1: 09:30-10:20 - Laying the foundations for success

· Introduction to tenders, bids, proposals

· Finding out about opportunities – platforms and portals

· Picking the right opportunities for your business

· Getting bid ready

· Understanding a tender’s requirement

· Bid / no bid decisions

· Clarification questions

· Quality of submission – what does good look like?



10:20-10:30: Coffee and networking



Session 2: 10:30-11:20 - Delivering a winning bid


· Bid writing approach

· Evaluation and mark schemes

· Key principles to achieve high quality responses

· Question deconstruction

· Providing evidence and detail, including case studies, data etc.

· Bid process overview.

· Preparing for typical questions


11:20-11:40: East Riding of Yorkshire Council: Construction tenders

An opportunity to hear from Stefanie Wright, one of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s procurement professionals from the Construction category. Stefanie will cover the new Common Assessment Standard and will advise on specific tendering requirements for construction work with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.



11:50-12:00: Washup and Questions

As this workshop is fully interactive, you’ll have opportunities to ask questions and share your thoughts and experience with the experts who’ll give you unique insights aimed to make bidding easier – and to achieve better outcomes.
